Since September 2013, Dr. Milena Harito is the Minister of State for Innovation and Public Administration of the Republic of Albania.

She has an extensive experience in the field of telecommunications and innovation, certified with various awards during her academic and professional career.

Dr. Harito graduated with honours in Computer Science from the University of Tirana in 1989 and has a PhD from Paris VI University in 1997.

She started her career by working at the Albanian Computer Science Institute.

Dr. Harito has substantial work experience as a senior manager in the telecommunications having worked during 15 years for Orange France, in Paris.

Between 2010 and 2011, Dr. Harito has been chief of Cabinet of Mr Edi Rama while he was the Mayor of Tirana and during the Parliamentary elections of June 2013, she has been elected MP of Tirana.

The main focus areas of the Ministry of State for Innovation and Public Administration are: the modernization of Public Administration through professionalization of civil servants, extensive development of e-government, the improvement of public services, and the development of information society through e-learning and promotion of start-ups.

Since she has been appointed State Minister, Dr. Harito has contributed to different public debates and important reforms in the field of professionalization of civil service, modernization of public administration, simplification of the relations with citizen, amelioration of the quality and efficiency of public services, development of e-government, etc. contributing therefore in her field of competence to the European integration process of Albania.

Dr. Harito speaks fluently English, French and Italian.
