Florian HAUSER currently works at the Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission, in the unit responsible for European Social Fund (ESF) Policy and Legislation. He is responsible for coordinating ESF support for institutional capacity building and public administration reform in EU Member States.
Prior to this, he was in charge of socio-economic development, institution and capacity building issues for the EC Delegations in Bulgaria and Croatia. He further worked as an advisor and evaluator of socio-economic and institutional development in Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Austria, Cambodia, Hong Kong and UK; and helped develop the monitoring and evaluation framework of European Development Cooperation for DG DEVCO.
He has been an associate expert of VNG International (the Netherlands Association of Municipalities), and a trainer and lecturer at The Hague Academy for Local Governance. He has university degrees in management & administration (Aston, UK/Barcelona, ES) and environmental policy (Lancaster, UK). Besides German mother tongue, he speaks fluent English and Spanish, as well as conversational Serbian.
